VENGEANCE..

So I was hanging out on a boring Sunday, just listening to some music. Then, a great C's fan from Louisiana tipped me off on Twitter to this spectacular new clip over on YouTube. This video is intense. It was made by "Drucci09". You can see all Drucci's videos here: Drucci09YouTube. If this doesn't get you hyped for the coming season, I don't know what will:

CLNS survey....

I started interacting with the guys from the Celtics Late Night Show about a year ago. They did what not many folks can-started up a new Celtics podcast/call-in show and were successful. Anyone who spends time on the 'net knows that sports blogs are everywhere and there are hundreds of Boston Celtics websites. CLNS came on the scene with a massive amount of energy and determination. They used every social-media aspect available to promote their show, and it's paid off. They are now one of the best and most popular Celtics podcasts/call-in shows around. I listen to them whenever I can and also love to call-in and interact with the hosts, Nick and Brandon. They have asked me to help them promote a quick survey for their listeners. Please use this link to complete the short survey: CLNS survey And be sure to check them out sometime. They have a great show. You can find out when the next show is and listen to past shows here: CelticsLateNightShow

ShaqTown....

Here's a few videos (courtesy of Celtics.com, Chris Forsberg & FOX25) from today's UFCExpo in Boston, as well as from Shaq's arrival at Logan Airport yesterday. The 1st one features Shaq clowning around with new teammate Big Baby and UFC star Tito Ortiz. The 2nd one is a quick interview The Diesel did with Celtics.com's Peter Stringer. And the final video features Shaq fresh off the plane talking Celtics vs the rest of the league, buying a house in Sudbury and "pahk the cah". Of note: Glen "Big Baby" Davis is a huge guy. Notice how small he looks next to Shaq...

KG comes up big vs the Cavs...

Fiending for some Celtics basketball? Yeah...me too. Well MuscularGhandi has you covered. He has done a nice job putting together highlights from Ticket's dominance of the Cavs in last year's Eastern Conference semis. There is a key moment at 8:57 in when KG finally answers the question that was on alot of our minds' during last year's regular season. What was wrong with the Celtics....??

New Hondo mix from the muscular one....

My boy MuscularGhandi  just posted a nice mix featuring Hondo aka John Havlicek. For some of you younger heads out there, Hondo was in some folks' opinion the best player to ever don a Celtics uniform. He retired with 8 NBA rings, the title of all-time leading scorer w/over 26,000 career points and many, many more incredible statistics. After you peep the video, you can read more about Havlicek courtesy of NBA.com's encyclopedia  here: HondoHistory

Honoring #3...

For those of you who missed Dennis Johnson's family speaking on his induction into the Baksetball Hall of Fame last night, here is a clip via Celtics.com. Larry Bird, Dennis' wife Donna and brother Gary were there to honor, and speak about D.J.

Von is in the building...

Many folks forgot yesterday that Shaq wasn't the only new Celtic in the building. Rookie Luke Harangoudy and former Rocket Von Wafer were also on hand in Waltham. ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg grabbed some video of Von answering a few questions from the media. I also got a chance to ask Von a quick question during last night's episode of "Boston and That Sports Babe". Here is a link to the show where you can hear the entire Von Wafer segment, as well as the rest of John & Jackie's great live sports/talk show:

Shaq is in town...

Haven't had a chance to even watch this myself yet as I'm too busy at work. But here is a clip of Shaq's press-conference from earlier this morning. The 2010-11 schedule should be released any moment now as well...

"Luck of the Irish" Ray Allen mix...

This summer, Danny Ainge made sure that Ray Allen would be wearing #20 for Opening Night at the Garden 2010. This made many Celtics fans, including myself, ecstatic. Ray's incredible outside touch, clutch free-throw shooting and professional attitude have made one of CelticsNation's favorite guys. My boy MuscularGhandi has made another great video in tribute to the man known as "SugarRay".

It's official: Shaq is a Celtic...

Boston Celtics today announced the signing of 15-time NBA All-Star and 4-time NBA Champion Shaquille O'Neal. Earlier in the day, some info started to surface that talks may have broken down, but it's a done deal. Here is the official press-release from the Boston Celtics: Shaq's a Celtic. This now means the Celtics will have 3 legitimate centers on their squad-something they have not had the last few seasons. Jermaine O'Neal and Shaq as your back-up bigs? Awesome. Since we all know Shaq's favorite number, 33, is out of the question, and Paul Pierce has 34, "The Diesel" will rock #36 this season for the C's. So the question on most Celtics fans' minds is; at 38, can Shaq still make a difference..? I believe he can. We all know that rebounding was a huge issue for the C's last year. He will certainly help out in that category, as well as clogging-up the middle, blocking shots and getting other teams' big-men in foul trouble. And what alot of folks forget about Shaquille is that he is also a very skilled passer for a big-man. Here are Shaq's career stats courtesy of ESPN.com: Shaq career totals.

And finally, some highlights from Shaq during the 2009-10 season courtesy of You Tube's 555Erik555:

Midsummer buzz.....

CelticsNation is all abuzz tonight over the NBA's releasing of some scheduling highlights and the recent Shaq to Boston rumors. I just got in from work and caught the end of NBATV's "special", where it was announced the C's would play on Christmas as well as MLK Day this coming season. But the big news of the day was finding out that the C's will open the season at the Garden vs Lebron, DWade and the Miami Heat.  Opening Night at the Garden is always a fun night, but this...this is going to be OFF THE HOOK! I cannot wait to watch these two teams go head-to-head, and also to boo the hell out of The Queen. Should be alot of fun. Opening Night at the Garden will take place on October 26th, with an 8pm tip-off on TNT. Here is the complete list of NBA games that were announced tonight via ESPN's Marc Stein: NBA marquee games 2010-11. Marc Stein is a great source for NBA news/info and can be followed on Twitter here: MarcStein-Twitter.

The Other big news of the day has been developing over the last few hours. As I was getting ready to leave work, I checked out Twitter real quick. The Shaq to Boston tweets were just out of control. It seemed like it was really going to happen. I personally thought that it was a dead issue, as the C's just didn't have enough room left under the salary-cap. But then the term "veteran-minimum" appeared, and low and behold, I started to think, "wow-is Shaq really going be to a Celtic..?" So as I type this entry, it seems now that Shaq will indeed be coming to town, and probably for 2 years! Who'd have thunk it? Stay tuned. If and when this becomes official, I'll post it here.

KG in China for Anta mega-promotion...

Kevin Garnett arrived in China yesterday to promote his endorsement deal with Chinese athletic company Anta. It was announced back in May that Ticket would be leaving Adidas. KG's trip will include trips to the Anta factory and a Chinese basketball camp for kids. A huge Celtics fan I know from China tweeted me a link to a great blog today. The blog features numerous pics from day one of the trip, and will follow KG for the whole journey. Check that out here: KG trip , and be sure to follow her on Twitter here: HmHmHope on Twitter. And finally, you can check out a short clip of KG's arrival in China here:KG arrives in China.
