One of my favorite Celtics reporters is Jessica Camerato. Check out this great interview she did w/Rondo for CSNNE's "Beyond the Arc" series. Jessica is one of the truly great people in Boston sports media-very down-to-earth and friendly. She'll always stop to say hello if she sees me at the Garden. Be sure to follow her on Twitter for great C's features, news and updates.
Despite injuries, Paul Pierce's lowest point total in years and some awful calls in the final 12 minutes, the C's doused the Heat 85-82 at the Garden today. Pierce, who was 0 for 10 from the field, admitted after the game that both his hand and left foot were bothering him. He will have a MRI on the left foot tomorrow.
Rajon Rondo played great defense-Doc said his pressure on Miami's ball-carriers won them the game. R.R. finished with yet another triple-double: 11 points, 10 boards and 10 assists. Big Baby was huge off the bench chipping-in 16 points and hitting 2 clutch free-throws in the final seconds of the game. KG picked up the slack w/Paul struggling, leading the C's with 19 points to go with 7 rebounds & 3 assists. Von Wafer continued his great play, hitting 2 of 3 from beyond the arc, and finishing with a solid line of 10 points, 2 steals & 2 assists in 14 minutes. Check out John's recap and link to the boxscore over on Red'sArmy.
The Celtics now have 2 full days of rest before wrapping-up the first half of the 2010-11 season on Wed. vs the Nets. Tip-off at the Garden is at 7:30pm. I'll be there to see the C's off before the All-Star game and another West Coast trip. (video of ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg)
With no Celtics game tonight, I found myself surfing the web. I stumbled across this great clip on iBasketball2010'sYouTube page.Great video he shot from Atlanta tonight of Stephen Jackson's buzzer-beater. The looks on the Hawks fans' (all 100 of them) faces are classic. The kid in the Oregon shirt just keeps saying: "Who makes that shot!? Lebron doesn't make that shot!" Classic:
Just got home from the Garden where the C's lost a "kick in the b*lls game" to the Mavs 101-97. I call it a "kick in the b*lls game" because that's exactly what it feels like when you're in an arena and your team loses one of these. Jason Kidd hit a three-pointer (and possibly travelled) with 2.5 seconds left to ice it. The C's had one more chance to tie, but an alley-oop play in the final seconds didn't work.
Not much to say tonight. This loss was a rough end to an even rougher week. Snow, traffic, more snow..this would've been a great win tonight to bring the city of Boston's spirits back up. Oh well, you cannot get them all. My colleague Chuck has a recap over at RedsArmy-go check it out too.
C's now have the day off tomorrow before facing Orlando in another big game on Sunday. Tip-off is at 2:30pm. (video courtesy of Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston)
Celtics finish the West coast trip with a 95-90 victory over the Kings. This win guarantees the C's will have the best record in the East heading into All-Star break-which means Doc will coach the East squad in this year's all-star game.
This game was pretty sloppy in the first half. The Kings took advantage of C's turnovers getting fastbreak buckets. But the Celtics, behind some great defense and execution, settled-in nicely for the last 2 quarters. Ray Allen continued his phenomenal season with a game-high 22 points, and 4 three-pointers. He is now 8 away from matching Reggie Miller's all-time record. Paul Pierce dropped in 15, including the back breaker (video from Jose3030 below) late, Ticket had 12 points & 7 boards and Baby was again solid off the bench with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Nate Robinson's defense and hustle were key late in the game. He struggled with his shooting, but his 4 steals were huge.
Celts now will attempt to get back to Boston in the midst of some serious snow to enjoy 2 days off. They are back at it on Friday vs the Mavs. Tip-off at the Garden will be at 8pm.
Fresh new video from the Boston area's Termanology produced by Statik Selektah. Track is called "Radio" and is from the album "1982". Really like this vid-it's simple, clean and the beats and rhymes are crisp. Extra props to Term for rocking the sweet Jordan II's and that nice C's jacket. Enjoy:
