Depleted...

1st it was Pierce, then Baby (again) and now KG. The injury depleted Celtics were simply outmatched and outmanned (and hell, throw in outgunned too) in Phoenix tonight. They drop their 3rd straight, 116-98. The C's looked like they might make a game of it early on with some good post play and defense, but they just couldn't keep up. Eddie House led the C's with 19, hitting 5 of 7 from beyond the arc. The Celtics say KG hurt the knee/leg during the Golden State and Clippers' games. Davis reinjured his thumb and sprained an ankle on this road trip. Rondo's health is also not at 100% as he battles a hamstring injury. He played 31 minutes tonight, scoring 13 and dishing out 8 assists. These battered and bruised C's now head home and are off until Saturday. The Raptors are in town, and tip-off Saturday night is at 7:30pm...

The Oracle does not like us....

C's fall in Cali again tonight, this time to GSW, 103-99. Celts looked great in the 1st half and were executing, but GSW controlled the tempo for most of the 2nd half. That, plus 26 turnovers did the Celts in tonight. C's have not won at GSW since 2005. Rondo had a fantastic night, scoring 30 pts and handing out 15 assists, but the C's were just flat in the final 24 minutes of this game. Glen Davis left the game with a "mild ankle sprain" and did not return. It doesn't get any easier for the C's-next up, the Suns in Phoenix on Wednesday night. Tip-off is at 9pm EST. Hopefully this video of T.A. shopping will cheer you up. "Mixed vegetables-all-in-one..."

Orlando gets Rondo'd....

Without their Captain Paul Pierce, the Celtics still win in Orlando, 86-77 on this Christmas Day. Rajon Rondo was masterful with a dizzying array of layups, dishes and rebounds. He finished with 17 points, 13 boards and 8 assists. Tony Allen made the most of his start today, dropping in 16 points and grabbing 4 boards. There were some not-so-good moments, a few bricks here & there, but for the most part T.A. played well. Kendrick Perkins was very effective in making Dwight Howard a non-factor on the offensive end. Howard pulled down 20 boards, but Perk and the rest of Boston's D held him to 5 points on 1 of 7 shooting. Ray Allen hit some key buckets and free-throws down the stretch, finishing with 18 points. The Magic were completely ineffective from 3, (one of their strong-points so far this year)shooting 19% from beyond the arc. I am very happy about this win. Last year at this time, we had just lost to the Fakers, and the Celts season was slowly unravelling. To beat Orlando at home, without Paul Pierce (as well as Marquis Daniels) was huge for this team's confidence I believe. The Celts are now off until Sunday when they face the Clippers in L.A. Tip-off is at 9:30pm EST. Merry Christmas to Celtics fans all over the world!

Whooped...

C's put an ass-whooping on the Wolves tonight, 122-104. Paul Pierce leads all-scorers with 29 points, hitting all 6 of his three-point attempts. This game was never close. The C's did look a bit winded to start the 2nd-half, but it didn't last long. Tony Allen was phenomenal (yes-phenomenal) off the bench, scoring 15 points and playing good defense tonight. He continues to surprise everyone. Next up for the Celtics, a chance for revenge against the Pacers, who beat the C's earlier this season. The Pacers are in town Tuesday night with tip-off at 7:30pm at the Garden...

Rolling...

Didn't make it to the Garden tonight, but no worries-the Celtics are owning the 'Wolves tonight. They are up 101-83 with about 8:00 left in the 4th. Easily the highlight off the night, and maybe the season, is this sweet Eddie House to Tony Allen play:

Not tonight..

Got back from the Garden about an hour ago. Exhausting night. Celts seemed to be in control heading into halftime, but things fell apart in the 2nd half. The Sixers end the Celtics win-streak beating them tonight 98-97. Elton Brand got a tip-in with about 7 seconds left that sealed the C's fate. Brand led the Sixers, and all scorers, with 23. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen both put up shots in the final seconds, but couldn't connect. KG led the C's with 21 and hit 2 clutch free-throws in the final minute, but it wasn't enough. The C's defense blocked 7 shots and grabbed 30 boards, but couldn't seem to get the crucial stops they needed. Rasheed Wallace flipped out on one of the referees and charged after him before be restrained by coach Tom Thibodeau and KG. Sheed was subsequently ejected. C's are now off until Sunday when they face the TWolves at the Garden. Tip-off is at 6pm. A win would've capped off an otherwise great night. Got to meet Kyle and Tung, who are both avid Celts fans I met on Twitter, and met WEEI's Kristine Leahy tonight. Very nice young woman. Goodnight Celtics fans all over the world...

Jesus Saves...

Celtics take out a tough Grizz team tonight, 110-105 in Memphis. Celtics put a bit of space between them and the Grizzlies in the 4th, but behind Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph and OJ Mayo, the Grizz kept it tight. With about 17 seconds left, and the shot-clock winding down, Ray Allen buried a deep 3-pointer for the final dagger. Ray was one of 6 Celtics in double-figures with 18 points on 5 of 6 shooting from behind the arc. I almost woke up the whole neighborhood when he buried the shot, an all-netter from about 2 feet behind the 3-point line. Rebounding was a concern going into the game, as the Grizzlies are tough on the glass, but the Celts managed to pull even with them at 36 boards apiece. The C's now have 3 days off before facing A.I. and the Sixers on Friday night at the Garden. I will be at the game and should have some pics/video posted here postgame. Tip-off is at 7:30pm.

C's 104-100..

Celtics win again tonight, beating the Wizards 104-100. The Celtics seemed to be cruising in the 1st half, but the Wizards went on a 10-2 run to start the 3rd quarter tonight. But Rajon Rondo once again took control of the tempo and the game to propel the Celts to victory tonight. Rajon finished with 21 points (to lead the C's)11 assists and 3 rebounds. He also had an incredible dunk in the 4th that I posted below. Perk played well once again, putting up a double-double with 16 pts and 11 boards. Ray Allen reached a milestone tonight, scoring his 20,000 career point. Next up for the C's, the Bulls at the United Center on Saturday night. Tip-off is at 8pm....

Jesus gets up...

Celts up 83-74 on Washington at the start of the 4th quarter. Here is the highlight of the night (so far) from Ray Allen-who also netted his 20,000 career point tonight:

Rondo's World...

I guess I titled the post that way tonight because it seems to fit. Rondo turned it in on in the 2nd half tonight, and catapulted the C's to victory 98-89 over the Bucks. Rajon went into the 2nd half with 0 points, but ended the game 1 rebound shy of a triple-double. I have to admit, whether it was because I was sick, the lackluster (and Redd-less) Bucks were in town or my favorite player Marquis Daniels was out, I couldn't get into this one. KG led all-scorers (actually tied w/Bogut who had a big game also) with 25 points. The C's were again out rebounded, more importantly on the offensive glass 14-5. That is troubling in my opinion. They just didn't seem to be completely motivated tonight, but hey, who is motivated to do their job every single day/night? Speaking of that, I must crash. Next up for the C's, the Wiz on Thursday. Tip-off is at 8pm...

Cruise control....

Celtics finish the latest road-trip undefeated (4-0) as they beat the Thunder 105-87 tonight at the Ford Center. KG is absolutely smoking hot lately and seems to be hitting every shot he puts up. He finished with 23 points to lead the Celtics, and his play continues to ease any worries about the health of his knee. Celts now have 3days off before facing Brandon Jennings and the Bucks on Tuesday. Tip-off is at 7:30pm, and I'll be at the Garden...

Celtics win again- 90-83...

The Celtics win again on the road tonight, beating the Spurs 90-83. The C's were in control most of the 1st 3 quarters of this game, but it got interesting in the 4th. The only concern tonight was the offensive rebounding-the Spurs out rebounded us 55-32, and 20-2 on the offensive glass. Hopefully Big Baby will bring some much needed rebounding help when he returns somewhere over the next few weeks. KG continued to look great, leading all scorers with 20 points on 9 of 15 shooting. 'Sheed chipped in 13 points and went 2 of 5 from beyond the arc and had 4 blocks. Tomorrow the C's wrap-up this road trip in Oklahoma City against Kevin Durant and the high-octane Thunder. Tip-off is at 8pm....

2 down, 2 to go...

Sorry Celtics fans-you are not going to get much from me tonight. I am still feeling lousy and need to hit the sack. But I have to give big props to my C's tonight. They went into Charlotte and absolutely went HAM on the 'Cats. Final: 108-90. Perk had yet another great game: 21 pts, 3 blocks & 12 boards. More on him in a minute. Ray Allen had a huge night in front of alot of his family and friends. Ray led all scorers with 27 points, and hit 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. Just an all-around great effort tonight from the C's. I am missing alot of the other contributors tonight, but as I said, I'm illin'. Before I call it a night though, please tell your friends about my new blog: Vote For Perk. It is basically just the spearhead of a campaign by myself and a whole bunch of other Celtics fans and bloggers to get folks to vote for Perk to be an NBA All-Star. The site has everything you need to vote. It's www.VoteForPerk.blogspot.com . C's are off tomorrow and return to action Thursday night vs the Spurs in San Antone....

Road Warriors..

Celtics start latest road trip on a high note by beating the Heat 92-85 last night. KG led the C's with 24 points on 11 of 12 shooting from the field and 2 of 2 shooting from the line. Ticket scored on an array of lay-ups, alley-oops and jump shots. It was by far the best he's looked all year. Kendrick Perkins had yet another stellar night on both ends of the floor, scoring 14 points to go with 13 boards and 3 blocks. Rondo dished out 11 assists and put in 13 points, 2 of them on an amazing shot that you can watch (courtesy of RedsArmy.com) below. Not the best of nights for the C's bench, as they combined to shoot 6 of 16 from the field. But Miami's bench was also a non-factor going 6 of 19 from the floor. DWade led Miami, and all-scorers, as usual, with 27 points. The Celtics now have a day off before facing the red-hot Bobcats in Charlotte tomorrow night. Tip-off is at 7pm...

That's more like it..

Celtics comfortably beat the Raptors at the Garden tonight 116-103. Ray Allen dropped in 20 and Perk shot a perfect 8 of 8 from the field to score 18. This was an exciting game. Had some great shooting by Turkoglu for the Raps, a great dunk on Chris Bosh by Paul Pierce and I had a great seat 2 rows behind the Celtics' bench which was simply awesome. It was very enjoyable to hear Doc in the timeouts, hear KG and 'Sheed going at it w/each other and the refs, and not to mention the 1st win at home on a Friday night in 3 weeks. The C's now go on the road for about a week. 1st up, the Heat in Miami this Sunday. Tip-off is at 6pm. Here are some pics and video from the game that I filmed from my phone...

Raps in town..

Chris Bosh and the Toronto Raptors are in town tonight. The Celtics have lost their last 3 Friday night home games in a row. I hope to help them break that trend tonight. I finally found a good seat I could afford after scouring the internet for the last 3 days. I will be in Section 22 in the 1st row. I hope to have some great pics and video here later on tonight. Tip-off at the Garden is at 7:30pm...

KG beats the buzzer..

I was there to witness the Celts beating the Knicks today 107-105 on KG's buzzer-beater. My stomach was in KNOTS and I would've been crushed if we lost to the Knicks. It was obvious KG was struggling with his shot today, but when it really mattered he came through. Kendrick Perkins had another great game-4 blocks and 13 boards to go along with 16 points. Paul Pierce led all scorers with 33 points and buried 6 of his 7 three-point attempts. Rondo was all over the floor today, on offense and defense. He was 1 rebound short of a triple-double and had 4 steals. For the 2nd unit, Eddie House had his best game in a while, scoring 10 points and hitting 2 three-pointers. It was alot of fun for me to see the Celts on the road, especially at the world-famous Madison Square Garden. Here are some pics and video I shot today...

Ray of Hope....

What's goin' on....??

Frustrating start to my weekend. Celts went down to the Magic 83-78 last night at the Garden. The C's couldn't hit much of anything shot-wise (30 of 87 from the field)
and Vince Carter didn't seem to miss at all. I don't want to dwell on this loss. The C's have some serious issues to address, and I feel confident they will-I'll leave it at that. Right now I am trying to enjoy my weekend with my family in New Jersey. Tomorrow I'll be at MSG for Celtics-Knicks, and will be checking out the world-famous NBA Store afterwards. Check here late tomorrow for pics, video, etc. Here is the only good thing that seemed to come out of last night's game for me-Aztec Gino, my sister and me on CSN....

Regroup and refocus...

Not a good weekend for the C's. Back-to-back losses, finger-pointing (from fans/media) and disappointment. We all know that expectations are high for this team, and anything short of Banner 18 will be a letdown. Marquis Daniels said on his Twitter tonight that it's time to "regroup n refocus". I believe they will do just that. They now have a full 3 days to get it together. I have all the faith in the world that they will. It's simple-they are a very talented group, but the age of some of their core players may hold them back. It will be up to the bench to come with energy in those instances. It will also be up to Doc and his staff to juggle minutes and make sure they are not burning guys out over the long 82 games that is an NBA season. I am very excited for this coming week. It will be all Celtics all the time for me. I will be going to both the Golden State and Orlando games on Wed. and Fri. at the Garden, then down to NYC for Knicks-C's at MSG next Sunday. I have family in the NYC area and will be visiting them. I hope to have some good pics and video of my trip posted here and on Twitter. Goodnite Celtics fans all over the world....

Lack of motivation..?

Celtics drop their 2nd game of the season tonight to the Hawks, 97-86 at the Garden tonight. Here are my observations:(watched on TV) At times, Celts were late getting back on D, Hawks were WAY more active on the glass, we shot an atrocious 1 of 15 from beyond the arc, and at times, we simply did not seem motivated. I called in to CSL tonight and spoke on these observations. The consensus between myself and the show's hosts was that the Celts just were not up for this game-or at least didn't seem to be. I am not here to bash the Celts, I am just stating what I saw as the reason(s) why we lost tonight. I noticed guys standing around underneath a bit, and also guys complaining to the refs when they probably should've been getting back on defense. Most of the current players on the C's roster have won a championship, have had multiple All-Star selections, won awards on many different levels of bball etc etc. It just appeared to me that tonight the Celts rested on their laurels. I am not concerned at this point in time. If this type of stuff is still going on as the season progresses however, then I can see it being a serious problem. Nevertheless, a very disappointing night at the Garden and on couches and recliners across CelticsNation. Next up, the Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse. It will be Marquis Daniels' return to his old stomping grounds. Tip-off tonight is at 7pm.

C's roll 105-86..

I was at the Garden for another C's victory last night. During the early 1st half, it looked as though the Jazz would keep this game close, but the C's really swarmed on defense and went on to win 105-86. All 5 starters were in double-figures, and everyone really contributed. KG led all scorers with 18, and continued to prove that his knee is fine. Especially so on an amazing dunk over 2 defenders that was set-up by a Rondo alley-oop. Marquis Daniels really impressed me again-he had 10 points, 3 boards and 3 assists. The Celtics D also forced Utah to use up all or most of the shot-clock on many of their possessions. Next up for the Green, the Hawks are in town tomorrow night. Tip-off is at 8pm, as the game will be nationally televised on ESPN. Here are a couple pics I got from my phone last night, as well as a video courtesy of John from RedsArmy.com. Near the end of the video, you can see myself and BPaul from GinosJungle.com. BPaul stands up just to the left of the basket and has all black on. I am seated next to him in a green shirt....

All-Star voting has started...

You can now vote for your favorite Celtics to go to the new Texas Stadium and participate in NBA All-Star 2009-10. There is a widget over on the right-hand side of this page. Those making this year's ballot include: KG, P-Dub, Rondo, Perk and Ray. You can also write-in anyone you like. I wrote-in Marquis Daniels. Vote for our boys in Green. Here's a little flashback to the Big Ticket from all-star 2007....

Reloaded....

C's are off again tomorrow and return to action Wednesday at the Garden. The Utah Jazz are in town, which means another marquee point guard match-up. This time for Rondo, it will be Deron Williams. The Jazz beat the Knicks tonight (Knicks actually beat themselves) at MSG and are now 3-4. Tip-off on Wednesday is at 7:30pm. I will be there and should have some pics and video. I really like the new "ReLoaded" marketing campaign the Celtics have unveiled this season....

On the road again...

Celtics will try to get back to their winning ways in New Jersey tonight. They fell to the Suns 110-103 last night at the Garden. The Suns were running and gunning all evening, and the C's just could not get stops (or hit free-throws) when they really needed to. No word on if Scal will play tonight. He's been listed as "day-to-day" for a bit now. Tip-off at the Izod Center is at 7:30pm...

Squeeeek!

Celtics squeek out a win in Minny tonight, 92-90 over the Wolves. In a sloppy game where the Wolves seemed to hit every shot, Rondo, Ray, KG and company came up with big plays when it really mattered. Rondo had 14 of his 18 points in the 3rd quarter, and seemed to be open every time one of his teammates looked for him. Kendrick Perkins continued his defensive onslaught with 3 blocks, and also pulled down 8 boards and scored 13 points. Minnesota's Oleksiy Pecherov was a thorn in the C's side all night. He seemed to hit every shot he threw up at the basket, and led all scorers with 24 points. The C's are off tomorrow, and return to action at home on Friday night when the Suns are in town. Tip-off at the Garden is @7:30pm. Not sure if I'm going yet or not. Goodnite Celtics fans.....

Smoked.

Rasheed Wallace and the Celtics absolutely smoked the Sixers at the Wachovia Center tonight. Final score:C's 105 76er's 74. Wallace scored 20 points off the bench tonight and drained 6 of the 8 threes he attempted. The Sixers shot an awful 36% from the field and even uglier 6% from 3. Yes, you're reading that right- 6 percent from beyond the arc. Paul Pierce again led all scorers with 21 points tonight. The real story however was the 2nd unit: 'Sheed played extremely well in front of alot of family and friends in his native Philly, EHouse dropped in 12 points on 4 of 5 shooting from downtown and Shelden Williams contributed 11 points and 7 boards. Marquis Daniels continued to do a bit of everything with 3 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal & 6 points. C's play the 2nd of a back-to-back tomorrow night in Minnesota vs the Wolves. Tip-off is at 8pm. Here is some video of 'Sheed's great night. Thanks to BigMck and John at RedsArmy.com for posting this clip...

Locked and loaded..

So I found out in the back of a cab on my way to work this morning that the Celtics had signed Rondo to an extension. It is for 5 years and worth $55 million dollars. I have not heard one negative comment from any of my friends or any of the Celtics bloggers I follow. I think everyone agrees this kid is extremely talented, athletic and smart. I know this is a huge cliche, but once he develops a better jumpshot, the sky is the limit for Mr. "You Got Rondo'ed". C's are off tonight, and travel to Philly next to face the Sixers tomorrow at 7pm.

Celtics win 97-87..

Got home a little while ago from the Celts 97-87 win over the Hornets. Paul Pierce led the C's, and all scorers, with 27 points. Ray Allen added 17 and 'Sheed 12 off the bench. This was by far the most competitive game of the young season and featured dunks, plenty of 3's and a couple of sick blocks-one by Perk and the other by KG. Rondo and CP3 got in each others' grill at one point and this was just an exciting game. Next up for the C's, the Sixers in Philly on Tuesday. Tip-off is at 7pm at the Wachovia Center. Here is a short clip I shot of the fabulous Celtics Dancers and a pic of KG giving DWest an earful....

Rondo vs CP3

Chris Paul, old friend Pose and the Hornets are in town tonight to face the C's. Most fans/friends I have been talking w/this morning are looking forward to the Rondo-CP3 match-up. Should be alot of fun. I haven't confirmed yet, but should be at the game and hope to post some pics/videos later tonight. Tip-off at the Garden is at 6pm. Go Celtics!

Celtics up close and personal..

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I have been at work with pretty much no free time. Tonight, the Celtics face the Bulls for the 1st time since last year's thrilling 7-game playoff series. Tip-off is at 8pm at the Garden. I will be enjoying tonight's game from home. I was however at the Opening Night thrashing of the Bobcats on Wednesday. Here is a great clip a friend of mine shot as the C's left the Garden floor...

Are you ready...?

So the day has finally arrived. The Celtics begin the quest for Banner 18 tonight! First up: Lebron James, Shaq and the Cleveland Cavaliers in Cleveland. Let's hope the Celts can break a bad habit of losing at Cleveland that dates back to 2004. Unfortunately, Celtics fans have had to deal with a bit of distraction during this the opening week of the 2009-10 season.. 1st, Big Baby Davis breaks his hand in some sort of "altercation" with a friend, and now word that Rondo is going to hold out and become a restricted free-agent in 2010. (The Rondo story is according to Marc Spears of Yahoo.com.) Nevertheless...LET THE GAMES BEGIN! I am at work in the midst of a software upgrade, but should be home in time to watch all of tonight's game. Tomorrow night, I am headed to the Garden for the home opener vs the Bobcats. I hope to have some pics and video for you tomorrow. GO CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

It ain't easy being Quisy...

Without KG and Ray, the Celtics still dismantled Lebron, that Shaq guy and the rest of the Cavs tonight, 96-82. Marquis Daniels continued to shine, getting to the hoop on numerous gorgeous drives, finishing the night w/17 points, 5 dishes and 3 boards. He is obviously going to be a huge piece of the puzzle this year. I personally am delighted that Danny Ainge went out and got Daniels this offseason. Eddie House had another nice night, dropping in 21 points and 3 three-pointers. Perk looked awesome on the defensive end again tonight and continues to impress anyone and everyone that has been following the C's this preseason. He contributed with 13 pts and 7 rebounds. The Celts are now done with the preseason. The next time they suit-up will be the real deal against these same Cavaliers. Tip-off is at 7:30pm at the Quicken Loans arena next Tuesday, Oct. 27th. I cannot wait.

The Mecca

Celtics fall to the Knicks tonight at MSG 108-103, in what will most likely be KG's last game until Opening Night next week. KG looked fantastic, with a few dunks, and a great, athletic block on Al Harrington. Ticket finished with 11 points, 7 boards and 2 blocks. Rondo led the C's with 20 points. Marquis Daniels had his best night in a Celtics uniform, scoring 17 points in 21 minutes of work. The C's will wrap-up the preseason tomorrow night vs the Cavs in Columbus, Ohio. I found out today I will be going to see the C's on the road for the 1st time in my life. What makes it even better is that I will be seeing them at MSG in New York City. "The Mecca" is something I've always wanted to see, and what better way to experience it then by watching my beloved C's play there. The game is on Sunday, 11/22 and I can't wait...

KG at his peak...

What's good? So I have to say, as I was watching yesterday's 101-82 victory w/a bunch of other fans via GinosJingle's live chat, one phrase dominated the conversation: "KG's back." I know it may be a bit premature and sure, the C's haven't faced any top-tier teams yet, but the Big Ticket is moving around pretty well. And, more importantly, he is starting to get to the free-throw line. He shot 5-5 from the line yesterday, and finished with 21 to lead all scorers. Ray Allen also continued to get better as he dropped in 20 pts. According to Doc, that was the last we will see of the starters (playing any significant minutes anyway) for the preseason. The C's now have 2 preseason games remaining: tomorrow vs the Knicks from The Mecca (which I hope to visit this season) and then Prince James, The Big Cleveland Steamer and the rest of the Chokers..er..Cavs on Wednesday to wrap it up. They will then be off for just about a week before opening the regular season vs those same Cavs on Tuesday, 10/27. There are alot of rumors floating around the blogs/websites about what will become of Tony Allen. Tony his been out of action with a recurring ankle injury and the subject of much speculation. Many believe if he is cut by the C's, that could be the end of his NBA career due to his chronic injuries and lack of consistency when on the floor. There probably are not too many teams out there interested in taking him on as part of any trade also. I'm sure we will find out sometime next week exactly what the C's management's plans are for T.A....

Baby's Big Block...

Here it is from last night's win against Toronto:

Here's Ticket...

Celtics beat the Raptors in Hartford last night 106-90. KG looked the best I've seen him so far, scoring 16 points on 8 of 13 shooting and 3 alley-oops from Rondo-2 of them dunks. Again though he did not get to the free-throw line. Big Baby continued to go strong to the hole and Rondo dished out 8 assists. C's are now off until Sunday when they face the Raptors again-this time in Toronto. Found this very cool KG pic this morning on Twitter...(via JESkeets of Yahoo.com)
